Valerio Zanolli studied singing with Rosa Dominguez at the Schola Cantorum Basiliensis and took part in masterclasses held by Margreet Honig, Paul Triepels, Emma Kirkby and Andreas Scholl; he also obtained a Master of Advance Studies in Vocal Ensemble [AVES] under Anthony Rooley and Evelyn Tubb. He masters a wide repertoire from the late Middle Ages to contemporary music, with a focus on Renaissance, Baroque, “belcanto” and vocal chamber music. His artistic activity brought him to perform in prestigious halls such as BOZAR Brussels, Theater an der Wien, Concertgebouw Amsterdam, Philharmonie Luxembourg, Grand Théâtre de Genève, Elbphilharmonie Hamburg, AMUZ Antwerpen, Théâtre des Champs-Elysées Paris, Opéra Royal de Versailles and in the frame of renowned festivals such as Oude Muziek Utrecht, MiTo Settembre musica, Musica Sacra Maastricht, George Enescu International Festival Bucharest, and Händel-Festpiele Halle, under the baton of, among others, Massimo Raccanelli, Robert King, Ottavio Dantone, Kay Johannsen, Fabio Bonizzoni , Jos van Veldhoven, and to collaborate with ensembles such as InVocare, Basler Madrigalisten (Raphael Immoos), Elyma (Gabriel Garrido), Les Argonautes (Jonas Descotte) and La Cetra (Andrea Marcon). He is a regular guest of the Accademia del Santo Spirito in Turin and Ad Mosam Barok in the Netherlands. He has taken part in recordings for Audite, Glossa, Klara, RAI, SRF and WDR. Valerio sang at the Bayerische Staatsoper in "Thomas / Lamento d'Arianna" by Haas-Monteverdi, conducted by Alexandre Bloch and directed by Anna-Sophie Mahler, in "Einstein on the beach" by Glass, conducted by André de Ridder and directed by Susanne Kennedy at the Theater Basel and the Wiener Festwochen, and his repertoire includes several roles in operas composed between the Baroque and early 19th century. With Abélia Nordmann, he directs the novantik project Basel and is currently vocal coach and associate director of Ensemble Choeur3 - Kammerchor im Dreiland.
